Lake and Wetland Management services the Fort Myers area in Southwest Florida. The Fort Myers location services the following counties:

  • Collier County
  • Lee County

The services are done all the same but some locations have more common services than others. The most common services are lake maintenance, large scale clearing, and mitigation maintenance.

Lake and Wetland Management will manage any lake whether it is man-made or natural. We have individual specialty services for lake maintenance that include native plants, monitoring reports, littoral shelves, fish stocking, and mosquito and midge control.

The large scale clearing is done with machines only when there is too much over grown non-native and exotic plants to remove by hand. Lake and Wetland will go in and clear all the non-native plants that do not belong and are invading the native species habitat. Once the land is cleared, herbicide will be sprayed to prevent them from growing back. Then the native plants will be installed from our nursery. Some of the common native plants we grow and install are

  • Pickerelweed
  • Arrowheads / Duck Potato
  • Golden Cannas
  • Blue Flag Iris
  • Spikerush (Sedges)
  • Soft Stem Bullrush]
  • Red Stem Thalia

Lake and Wetland Management does mitigation maintenance for preserves, littorals, and wetlands. For preserves, this includes restoration of native plants and clearing of non-native plants.

The littoral shelf is an essential component in a lake or pond so maintenance of a littoral shelf is important. They need to have native plants in the littoral to help filter out run-off for the other native aquatic species.

Wetland mitigation maintenance also involves the clearing of non-native species and installing native plants in their place. Lake and Wetland Management does monitoring reports on every service performed so the client is always aware of the management.
